In Japan, currency exchange is generally not available in town or hotels. Currency exchange is available in only limited branches of banks and major post offices. Credit cards are available in shops, hotels and restaurants, but not for buses and most taxies.
You CANNOT exchange currency in Yonago Airport, but in order to ride on a bus or taxi from the airport to the city, cash of JPY is needed.
We recommend the exchange of currency in the airport where you will land on Japan at first, or in your country.
During the symposium period, we recommend the use of Yonago Post Office (5 min by walk from the symposium venue) to exchange currency. The exchange is available only in 9:00 AM - 16:00 PM on Monday to Friday. It means that, if you will arrive at July 29 or 30, you cannot exchange the currency in Yonago.
